Several Eastern Kentucky University softball players received All-Atlantic Sun Conference recognition on May 5, as the conference announced its annual honors before the Colonels’ first-round tournament matchup against North Florida.

The awards highlight individual and academic achievements among the team. Kennedy Drafton and Jaelin Haynes were named to the All-ASUN Second Team, while Bayle Hunnicutt earned a place on the All-ASUN Freshman Team. Additionally, Reese Knox, Emily Mariscal, Tayteum Vigansky, Kaitlyn Wallis, and Drafton were recognized for their performance in both athletics and academics by being selected to the Academic All-ASUN Team.

Drafton’s selection marks her third career appearance on an ASUN postseason list after previous recognition in 2024 and 2025. She played in 51 games this season with a .318 batting average and led her team in doubles, home runs, and runs batted in. Defensively at second base, she contributed over 100 putouts along with multiple assists and double plays.

Haynes received her second career ASUN honor following a senior season where she led Eastern Kentucky with 52 hits and 36 runs across 50 games. In center field she posted a .932 fielding percentage alongside several defensive contributions.

Hunnicutt was recognized for her debut year by earning a spot on the Freshman Team after making more than twenty starts as pitcher. She finished fourth among all conference pitchers in strikeouts while leading freshmen in that category.

Eastern Kentucky will begin its ASUN Tournament play against North Florida later today.
