Mouhamed Camara, a former four-star recruit who redshirted at Louisville during the past season, will join Eastern Kentucky University’s men’s basketball team, the school announced on May 13.

The addition of Camara is significant for Eastern Kentucky University as he brings size and experience from both collegiate and international play. His background includes time at NBA Academy Africa and participation in high-level tournaments.

Camara, originally from Dakar, Senegal, was rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports before joining the University of Louisville program. He played multiple games with three or more blocks and steals during the 2024 NBA Academy Winter Tour. Notably, he recorded four blocks and eight steals against the NBA Global Academy and had three blocks with three steals against the NBA Latin America Academy in December 2024.

“Mo is a phenomenal addition with elite size, length and athleticism,” said A.W. Hamilton, head coach at Eastern Kentucky University. “He can guard every position on the floor and is a high level rim protector. Mo is a perfect fit in our system, and we’re excited about the unique skills he brings to both sides of the ball.”

The forward stands six-foot-eight inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. In addition to his college experience, Camara competed in the FIBA AfroBasket qualifiers in 2025 as part of Senegal’s Senior National Team.

As Camara joins Eastern Kentucky University’s roster for upcoming seasons, observers will watch how his defensive abilities contribute to team performance.
