Eastern Kentucky University lost the series finale to Austin Peay by a score of 15-2 on Sunday, May 10.

The game saw Eastern Kentucky fall behind early, with Austin Peay scoring eight runs in the first three innings. This loss concludes the series between the two teams.

Cole Johnson hit a two-run double and Trevor Conley added an RBI single in the first inning for Austin Peay. Paris Pridgen contributed a two-run single and DJ Merriweather hit a two-run home run during a five-run third inning, giving Austin Peay an 8-0 lead. EKU managed to get on the scoreboard in the fifth inning when Silas Shaffer hit his second home run of the season over the left field wall.

Austin Peay (24-27, 14-13 ASUN) scored again in the fifth and added six more runs in the sixth inning, ending the game by run rule. Five different players recorded one hit each for EKU (15-37, 7-20 ASUN), with Shaffer finishing 1-for-2 at bat with a walk, one run scored, and one RBI. Pridgen went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and two RBIs for Austin Peay.

The Colonels will end their season with an upcoming series at Bellarmine beginning Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
