The Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball team announced on May 6 the signing of guard Rylee Kalocay from the transfer portal. Head coach Greg Todd said Kalocay is the team’s third addition through the portal this offseason, bringing next season’s roster to ten players.
Kalocay played her freshman year at Kent State University, appearing in 19 games and making six starts. She averaged 5.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game during the season. As a shooter, she recorded a field goal percentage of 40.6 percent and shot over eighty percent from the free-throw line.
“Any time a player can come out of the Mid-American Conference and produce efficiently, it says a lot,” Todd said. “Rylee has shown she can shoot the ball at a high level from three and manage the game with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. We believe those strengths fit our program perfectly and we can’t wait to get her on campus this summer as we look to repeat a conference title.” Kalocay scored in double figures six times as a freshman, including a season-high sixteen points against Davis & Elkins.
Before college, Kalocay attended Upper St. Clair High School where she finished second all-time in scoring with 1,759 career points and led her team to its first state championship in seventeen years as a senior in 2025. She was recognized with several honors including First Team All-State and WPIAL Player of the Year by multiple local publications.
Eastern Kentucky won its eleventh Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season championship last year under Todd’s leadership and posted three consecutive twenty-win seasons for the first time in program history.
Kalocay is expected to join campus this summer ahead of offseason workouts.
