Eastern Kentucky University will continue its road trip with a three-game baseball series against Austin Peay, starting Friday, May 7. The opener is set for 7 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by games on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The matchup comes after EKU’s recent win over Western Kentucky, where the Colonels secured a 5-3 victory. Ricco Longo contributed two hits, two runs, and an RBI in that game. Pitcher Griffin Howell has appeared in three consecutive games without allowing a run and has recorded two saves during those outings.

Khaleel Pratt currently ranks fourth nationally for being hit by pitches this season with a total of 25 times. Jacob Price is scheduled to start Saturday’s game after earning Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance against Lipscomb last weekend; he threw seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts while limiting one of the conference’s top-hitting teams to a .167 average.

Austin Peay enters the series with an overall record of 23-25 and is 13-11 in ASUN play. The Governors recently won their home series against Central Arkansas but lost their most recent non-conference game to Southeast Missouri. Key players include Zion Taylor, who leads the team with a .344 batting average along with nine home runs and forty-two RBIs; Ray Velazquez leads in home runs (13) and runs scored (50), while Paris Pridgen has stolen twenty-eight bases this season.

Historically, Austin Peay holds a slight advantage in the rivalry dating back to 1979, leading the all-time series seventy-two wins to sixty over EKU. The Governors have also been strong at home in Clarksville and have won eleven of their last twelve meetings against EKU.
