Eastern Kentucky University’s Edna Chelulei was named the ASUN Track Performer of the Week on Apr. 8 after a standout performance at the Stanford Invitational.

Chelulei, a sophomore from Kenya, ran the seventh fastest 10,000 meters time in NCAA history with a mark of 31:33.57. This achievement broke her own school record and earned her first weekly honor for the 2026 outdoor season.

Chelulei’s accomplishment adds to her list of accolades, as she was previously recognized as an NCAA All-American in the event during last year’s outdoor season.

Her recent performance highlights both individual achievement and continued excellence for Eastern Kentucky University’s track program. The recognition reflects her ongoing impact in collegiate track and field.

Observers will be watching to see how Chelulei builds on this momentum throughout the rest of the outdoor season.
