The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team ended its season on April 16 with a 4-0 loss to second-seeded Lipscomb in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Tennis Championship at the FGCU Tennis Complex in Fort Myers, Florida.

This result concludes EKU’s season with a 10-15 overall record, which is the team’s highest win total since 2018. The Colonels faced tough competition as Lipscomb secured the doubles point by winning matches on courts one and two. EKU’s Marilou Cote and Izem Elif Olcer earned the team’s only victory of the day, defeating Martina Bovio and Kameliia Tytarenko from Lipscomb with a score of 6-1 on court three.

In singles play, Lipscomb clinched the match by recording straight-set victories on courts one, two, and six. The Bisons reached four points needed for a team win before other singles matches could be completed.

Lipscomb now advances to face either Austin Peay or North Alabama in Friday’s semifinal round scheduled for 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Colonels’ performance this season reflects progress for the program after several years without reaching double-digit wins.
