Four student-athletes from the Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on May 12.

The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically. The honorees from Eastern Kentucky University are Ceylin Ipek, Masha Fedenko, Sasha Parkhomenko, and Zhansaya Bakytzhan.

Zhansaya Bakytzhan, a junior from Kazakhstan majoring in sports management, achieved a 3.94 grade point average and competed primarily on court six with a singles record of 4-10. Senior Masha Fedenko of Ukraine also studied sports management and earned a GPA of 3.63 while posting nine singles victories for the season, mostly on the top two courts. Sasha Parkhomenko maintained a GPA of 3.60 as she pursued her degree in sports management; she played mainly on the top three flights and secured three singles wins during the season. Ceylin Ipek had a GPA of 3.55 while studying business and finished with six singles victories in the campaign.

Eastern Kentucky completed its season with an overall record of 10-15—the program’s first double-digit win total since returning in 2022—and went 7-4 at home matches while earning a spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.

The recognition highlights both academic achievement and athletic performance among members of collegiate athletics programs.
