Jacob Price, a redshirt junior at Eastern Kentucky University, was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week on May 5. The announcement came from the league’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

The recognition follows Price’s performance against Lipscomb, where he pitched seven shutout innings to secure a 2-0 win for EKU. During that game, Price allowed only four hits, issued one walk, and struck out a season-high eight batters.

Lipscomb entered the matchup with the second-highest team batting average in the conference at .293. However, Price limited their hitters to just a .167 average during his outing.

Following Saturday’s victory, Price improved his season record to 4-3 with an earned run average of 5.33. He currently ranks second in the conference for innings pitched at 72.2 and ninth in strikeouts with 57.

EKU is scheduled to play its next game at Western Kentucky on Wednesday evening.
