Mountaineers Hit 15 Three-Pointers in 88-76 Win over Campbellsville- Harrodsbrug

Berea College put on an offensive showcase in their win over Campbellsville Harrodsburg 88-76 on Wednesday night, giving the Mountaineers their third win of the season and a 3-1 overall record.

The Mountaineers started the game hot from beyond the arc in the first half shooting almost 60% percent (10-17). Sophomore guard Marquis Mackey got the Mountaineers going hitting two three-pointers within the first couple of minutes. However, they struggled defending the paint allowing for the Pioneers to control the glass and keep the Mountaineers close with a score of 43-43 going into half time.

The Mountaineers were led by sophomore guard Trey Minter, who had a phenomenal night with a season-high 32 points, five rebounds and impressively having zero turnovers. However, there were multiple individuals on the Mountaineers squad who had an impressive night. Senior guard Isaac Caudill had 19 points, four assists, six rebounds and shot 5-9 from three.  Freshman forward Andrew Jones was a sniper behind the arc hitting numerous clutch threes and going 4-5 from beyond the arc.

The Pioneers were led by Keelan Kennedy who had 12 points and seven rebounds. Kennedy shot 4/11 from the field and was 4-4 the free throw line. Tyrese Duncan also added 12 points and shot 4-7 from three.

The Mountaineers had 16 points off turnovers and shot 15-33 from three. Their defense forced 18 turnovers, had 23 rebounds and 15 assists.

Up next, the Mountaineers will host Asbury University at the Seabury Center (November 19th) for Homecoming. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
