Women's Basketball Secures Third Win of the Season Defeating Sewanee
Berea College Women's basketball team continues their great play on the court as they beat the Sewanee Tigers 75-57. Giving the Mountaineers their third win of the season.
The Mountaineers were led by sophomore guard Drea Satori, who played great with 19 points, four rebounds and had the ball on the string with zero turnovers. However, there were multiple individuals on the Mountaineers squad who played a big role in the Mountaineers third win of the season. Senior forward Destiny Combs had 12 points and was a monster on the glass with 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jayden Merriweather and senior guard Aaliyah Hampton both put up 14 points as well helping the Mountaineers thrive on offense.
The Tigers were led by Kayla Antoine who had 16 points and nine rebounds. Antoine shot 6/12 from the field and was 4-6 the free throw line. Camryn Broussard also added nine points.
The Mountaineers had 26 points off turnovers and 24 points on fastbreak. Their defense forced 25 turnovers, had 37 rebounds and 13 assists.
Up next, the Mountaineers will travel to Georgia to face Wesleyan College to kickoff CCS play. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
