Safety is always our top priority at Montgomery County Schools 

Safety is always our top priority at Montgomery County Schools. We wanted to make you aware of an event that happened today at the high school which was resolved with minimal disruption.

After hearing about rumors of a student making a threatening statement, school and district administration working with school and local law enforcement conducted an immediate investigation. The student was quickly identified. It was determined that they did make a threatening comment, however, at no point was anyone in danger. The situation has been completely taken care of and appropriate disciplinary action along with law enforcement coordination will occur. The procedures that we have in place allowed us to handle this situation with little disruption to the other students in the building. Students remained in class during the lockdown and have now resumed their class schedule.

During events like this, rumors can spread, which is why we wanted to make you aware of this as soon as possible. We appreciate those who reported to the teachers and encourage anyone concerned to speak to an adult if they see or hear anything inappropriate.
