Aaliyah Hampton of the Berea College women's basketball team was named Collegiate Conference of the South Women's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The Hopkinsville, Ky. native averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.0 steals in two games this week. In their contests against LaGrange College, the junior shot an efficient eight-for-12 from the floor and 10-for-15 from the free throw line for a game-high 27 points to go with five rebounds and four steals. In a 64-48 win over Piedmont University, Hampton was just shy of a double-double, finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds while so recording six steals.

This is Hampton's first weekly honors of the season.

The Berea College women's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, taking on Maryville College for Senior Night. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. with the senior recognition ceremony to take place following the contest.
