Track and Field Has Impressive Outdoor Season Debut in Victor Ice Breaker Duals
For the meet, Berea secured first place finishes, in the men's and women's CCS battles between the Mountaineers and the Scots. Berea men edged out the Scots 52-51 in team score, while the Berea women laid out a dominate 106-18 team score win.
Freshmen duo Madison Stonestreet (5:01.10) and Carah Anteck (5:12.84) started their outdoor season with a blazing 1500m race. The junior duo of Silas Fair (4:04.82) and Robert Immell (4:05.72) not to be outdone followed it up with their own battle in the 1500m. Sarah Keown on her third throw of the day, threw an all-time best of 10.49m in shot put. Three Mountaineer women finished in the top 8 for long jump, Hannah Hisle (4.70m), Liz Stokes (4.52m), Jerneisha Lewis (4.48m).
Anita Chukwu (28.28) started her senior outdoor season with a new personal best in 200m. Kymiah Blair continued her indoor success with two top-4 finishes in the 100m and 200m and lowering her own personal best each event and running the current #1 time in Division III in the women's 200m. Calib Collier-Smith lead the Mountaineer men sprinters with personal bests in the 100m (11.20) and the 200m (22.79). David Emeka-Ibe (11.32) in the 100m and JC Ozor (23.01) in the 200m followed close behind Collier-Smith. Jakeisha Lewis (10.04m) set a new personal best in the triple jump to secure 4th place. Finishing the day for the Mountaineers, DeMarcus Smith (44.56m/146'2") reset his personal best three times on the day in javelin.
Next up, the Mountaineers travel to Oxford, OH for Miami University Blizzard Buster on March 17th.

Hammer
Women- Kyonna Ross started the day for the Mountaineers with a personal best of 30.94/101'6" and Elise Kemp threw 31.13m/102'1" to finish the day 16th and 15th respectively.
Men- Joshua Carr threw 18.72m/59'11" to finish 19th on the day.
Shot Put
Men- Joshua Carr threw an outdoor personal best of 7.06m/23'2".
Women- The quartet of Sarah Keown, Lilly Stears, Elise Kemp and Kyonna Ross took part in the shot put. Keown lead the way with a personal best of 10.49m/34'5" and finished 10th. Stears finished 13th with a mark 9.97m/32'8.5", Kemp finished 23rd with a mark of 8.77m/28'9.25" and Ross finished 26th with a mark of 7.81m/25'7.5".
Long Jump
Women- Hannah Hisle (4.70m/15'5"), Liz Stokes (4.52m/14'10") and Jerneisha Lewis (4.48m/14'8.5") finished 4th, 6th, and 8th on the day. Hisle jumped a season best to secure 4th place.
Men- Larry Branch lead the way with a jump of 6.18m/20'3.5" to secure 6th. Robert Russell lead the way with a jump of 5.86m/19'2.75" to finish 8th on the day. Caleb Wilson jumped a season best 5.80m/19'0.5" to secure 11th.
5000m
Women- Leslie Estrada in her outdoor debut ran a personal best of 21:46.61 to take 45th place in the event.
4x100 Relay
Women- The Mountaineers took 4th place with a time of 51.13, led by the team of Jakeisha Lewis, Kymiah Blair, Anita Chukwu and Angel Patterson.
1500m
Women- Two Mountaineer women made their outdoor debut in the 1500m and two ran personal bests. Madison Stonestreet in her outdoor debut ran 5:01.10 to win her heat. Carah Anteck ran 5:12.84 to secure 2nd place in her heat.
Men- Three Mountaineer men raced in the 1500m and two of them finished in the top-8. Silas Fair took 1st in his heat with a time of 4:04.82 and Robert Immell was closely behind finishing 2nd with a time of 4:05.72
100m Hurdles
Women- Jakeisha Lewis took 9th place with a time of 18.27.
400m
Women- Brianna Dowell took 11th running a season best of 1:06.51
Men- Larry Branch opened his outdoor season with a 12th place finish at 52.12, his second fastest mark all time.
100m
Men- Six Mountaineer took place in the men's 100m and two of them finished in the top-15. Calib Collier-Smith finished 9th with a personal best of 11.20 and David Emeka-Ibe finished 14th with a time of 11.32.
Women- Five Mountaineer men raced in the 100m and three finished in the top 20. Kymiah Blair secured 4th with a personal best time of 12.62. Anita Chukwu (13.72) and Hannah Hisle (13.81) finished 18th and 19th.
High Jump
Women- Alyssa Tittsworth in her event debut jumped 1.36m/4'5.5" to secure 9th. Liz Stokes jumped 1.31m/4'3.5" to secure 10th .
800m
Women- Liberte Mack secured 6th place with a personal best of 2:29.83. Freshmen Kristin Fischli in her event debut finished 15th with a time of 2:36.40
Men- Alexis Arreola continued his strong senior season. Arreola (1:59.00) took 5th in the event setting an outdoor season best and 2nd all-time run for him.
400m Hurdles
Women- Jerneisha Lewis secured 5th place with a time of 1:12.81 and Alyssa Tittsworth ran 1:24.42 to secure 10th.
Men- Making his event debut, Quinncey Gibson ran a 1:05.87 to secure 11th place.
Triple Jump
Women-Jakeisha Lewis on her last jump of the day, jumped a personal best 10.04m/32'11.25" which secured 4th.
Men- Caleb Wilson took 6th with a jump of 10.97m/36'0".
200m
Women-The quartet of Kymiah Blair, Anita Chukwu, Angel Patterson and Brianna Dowell all set new personal best in the 200m. Blair (25.20) took 2nd place in the 200m dash lowering her own personal best. Blair's time is currently #1 in Division III.
Men- Mountaineer men had two runners in the 200m and they did not disappoint. Calib Collier-Smith (22.79) and JC Ozor (23.01) ran personal best and secured 10th and 14th respectively.
4x400 Relay
Women- Berea had two women's 4x400 teams and two top-8 finishes. Berea "A" secured 6th place with the team of Jerneisha Lewis, Kristin Fischli, Madison Stonestreet and Kymiah Blair ran a season best 4:11.72. Berea "B" led by Brianna Dowell, Liberte Mack, Jakeisha Lewis and Alyssa Tittsworth ran 4:28.22 to secure 8th.
Men- Berea had two relay teams going head-to-head. Berea sprinters 4x4 with Larry Branch, Calib Collier-Smith, David Emeka-Ibe, and Ozor ran 3:30.61 to secure 6th place. Berea middle distance 4x4 with Alexis Arreola, Noah Reasoner, Robert Immell and Silas Fair secured 9th place
Javelin
Men- DeMarcus Smith started his day with a personal best in javelin and two throws later, threw two more personal bests. Smith finished 10th on the day with a personal best of 44.56m
Discus
Women- Sarah Keown threw a season best 28.55m/93'8" and Lilly Stears in her event debut threw 27.51m/90'3".
