Hampton Earns D3hoops.com All-Region Honors

Berea College women's basketball junior Aaliyah Hampton was selected to the All-Region 6 Third Team on Tuesday morning, D3hoops.com announced.

This is the second consecutive season that Hampton was selected to the All-Region 6 Third Team.

Hampton had an impressive season for the Mountaineers, ranking sixth in the Collegiate Conference of the South in scoring with 13.4 points per game, sixth in free throw percentage at .778 percent per game, and sixth in steals with 2.1 steals per game. Aaliyah finished with 10+ points 25 times this season, five of which she scored more than 20.

Along with her national honors, Hampton was awarded several conference awards as she was named CCS Player of the Week once, All-Conference First Team, All-Championship Team, and the Most Outstanding Player of the CCS conference tournament.

The Mountaineers had a historical season, finishing with a 26-3 overall record and a 15-1 mark in the first season of the CCS. Berea won its fifth consecutive regular season title and won the CCS conference tournament over Piedmont. After clinching the conference tournament, the Mountaineers landed in the top-25 poll for the first time in program history since moving to NCAA Division III. The Mountaineers also played in their second-ever NCAA tournament game, ultimately ending their season against Ohio Northern.
